Mobile Building Services Engineering Improver

Based: Mobile (at times working from Halifax offices)

Hours of Work:08.00 17.00

Salary:Between £18-24K per annum based on qualifications and experience.

Due to significant growth JDS are recruiting for a Mobile Building Services Improver to support our Engineering and Contract Management teams.

The successful candidate would benefit from experience in a similar role but is not essential and be happy to travel where necessary. Majority of our work is in Halifax, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Manchester with some clients sites taking us to Middlesbrough, Grimsby, Morecambe, Kendall, Stoke.
JDS are passionate about training and development and a training plan will be set in place on your induction. Ideally this role would suit an individual that is looking to become a commercial gas or air-conditioning engineer.
There is the possibility of working away overnight when carrying out project/install work with accommodation provided although this is not a regular occurrence.
The chosen candidate may be required to work additional hours to ensure works are completed within the time frames allocated.

Roles and Responsibilities: Working alongside qualified engineers you will be attending an exciting variety of work. You will be working across a mixture of services including heating, air conditioning, electrical and more. These will be planned maintenance, reactive callouts, remedial works and small projects.

Responsibilities will include

Providing additional support to our engineering teams.
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance works that can include PPM's, breakdowns and reactive repairs to a wide range of equipment alongside one of our qualified engineers and or subcontractors
Assist engineering team in obtaining costs for materials for remedial works found to be required
Maintain the cleanliness of all work areas including plant rooms, workshops and storage areas and JDS office
Removal of rubbish and equipment to registered disposal centres and scrap yard
Collection/Returns of parts to suppliers
Update asset registers and test sheets
Work in accordance with given instructions, maintenance schedules. safe working practices and method statements ensuring relevant paperwork is completed in an accurate timely manner
Follow procurement practices as directed
Complete all paperwork accurately and submit on time.
Work towards the Engineering KPI system in place


A minimum of 1 years experience in a similar role
In date CSCS card desirable
Minimum of two work references
Knowledge and/or Experience in electrical, air conditioning, heating, plumbing,advantageous
Additional qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA etc are also highly advantageous
Full and Current clean driving license
Update documentation on Word and Excel using a tablet
Reliable and hardworking
Available to work overtime should it be required
Take responsibility for tasks and responsibilities where as an individual or as part of the Engineering Management team
Can demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills
Strong Problem solving and Technical Skills
The ability to prioritise workload

Other Information

Working hours Monday Friday, 8am 5pm
Regular commitment for overtime (min 2 Saturdays per month)
