Director-General of the BBC, Tim Davie announced plans for a new National Film and Television School hub to be based in the BBCs new Central Square building in Cardiff, Wales. In addition to the BBC, the School benefits from the support of the Welsh Government and a number of industry partners.

NFTS Wales will focus its activity on providing specialist courses in skills shortage areas supporting local talent to acquire the higher-level skills required to either pursue postgraduate study or to work at the very highest level in the film and television industry.

In preparation for the hub opening in 2021 we are now looking to appoint a Head of NFTS Wales.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is excited about imparting their knowledge to and inspiring the next generation of film and television-makers.

You will have film and/or television production experience and/or experience of teaching and tutoring new talent. Applicants need to have the capability to lead a team, manage a budget and develop a portfolio of courses as well as being an exceptional communicator possessing excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for learning.

The National Film and Television School, first established in 1971 by the UK government and film industry, is recognised as the leading film and television school in the UK and is one of the most respected film, television and new media schools in the world. The School was awarded the 2018 BAFTA for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema and the Queens Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education.
