Events Manager at Weddings & Corporate Events Venue

Position: Part time, Permanent (required to work Mon - Sun, regularly working weekends for functions & other duties).
We are seeking a long-term employee to join our professional and friendly team and busy business.
Package: £11.25 per hour which will be reviewed after 12 months + Company pension.
Holidays: Approximately 28 days per year pro-rata dependent on hours worked.
General: We are currently looking to train and appoint a motivated, outgoing, IT/Social Media savvy, professional and hardworking Events Manager to join our successful wedding and events business.
The team are a key part of the business and have won successive awards for wedding event management and the venues themselves have also won and been shortlisted for wedding venue awards. Whilst the majority of functions require the event manager at Bredenbury Court Barns, the role may also infrequently demand travel to our other venue in Northamptonshire for provide the same duties. This also where initial events management training occurs. Whilst largely based in Herefordshire, the candidate must be prepared to travel to further training/refresher courses and on occasion to run functions at the Northamptonshire venue.
The role requires a smart, professional, personable all-rounder individual. Quick to learn, willing to pull shirt sleeves up (goes with the event manager territory!) and physically fit. Involves a wide ranging skill set and each team member is an important and valued part of our business.
Hours: Due to the current uncertainty we foresee initially lighter hours however we anticipate as lockdown restrictions lift and events resume, one or two office days (8-9 hrs per day) and where functions fall on these office days significantly longer days when managing a function (upto 16-17 hours per day).
Additional functions and hours are very likely to be available.
Candidate must be able to travel to Northamptonshire for training and infrequent event management of functions, though predominantly based at Bredenbury Court Barns.
The Event Manager has a great deal of responsibility & is involved in a broad range of business lines including advertising & marketing, sales, operations, facilities management, planning & the core event management itself.
Whilst proven skills in a similar position are preferable, we ensure comprehensive in-house training and shadowing so previous experience is not essential.
Sales & Marketing responsibilities including meeting with prospective clients and showing them the venue.
Booking of events, subsequent event & wedding planning support and coordination.
Full Event Management including full set up and administration prior to event occurring, ensuring event runs smoothly and ensuring professional take down.
Assistance in the setting up of wedding receptions and corporate functions in line with clients individual requirements.
Excellent level of both spoken English and written English
Outgoing personality, interested and enthusiastic (whilst also a good listener) with good telephone and client meeting manner.
The Event Manager will be an organised and methodical person, who is active and physically fit and able to move furniture (e.g. dining chairs/tables).
Ability to work under pressure on ones own, use initiative, have ample stamina and deliver outstanding service to clients over the whole course of a wedding day and onward evening celebration.
Ability to work within a team as required.
Managerial qualities to lead or influence others whilst also being prepared to roll sleeves up where necessary and get involved
The Event Manager will have great client service skills and will be a confident ambassador of the venue.
Strong IT skills are essential (Outlook, Word, Excel) with accurate keyboard skills & sound numeracy
